November: Zoo Visits and Turkey Hands

At the beginning of the month I went to Pinner's Conference! Bryndee flew out from New York for it and we had so much fun! Melissa, Ashley and Cami came too for parts of it. We went to classes, out to dinner, and bought lots of things!

Rusty babysat the kids and somehow put all of the bike trailers together. Note: Amelia is falling out of the trailer haha

While Bryndee was still in town I babysat her kids one day so she could get some work done, and then we went to the zoo all together. The kids loved running around crazy and riding the carousel. Della was so excited to have Bryndee there! After the zoo we went to The Dodo and had dinner and brought some yummy pie back home to share with Rusty.

Then we had a girls' night! It was so fun! We watched Snow White and Della wore the dress that Bryndee bought for her while we did face masks and painted nails. Della was in absolute heaven, and Bryndee wasn't too sad about having a little girl for the night haha.

Lia wanted to be included haha

We tried to spend some time out at parks this month, even though it was a little chilly. We know that with winter around the corner we had better be fitting in some of our snow free activities!

Della is still working on riding her two wheeler!

Henry entered a contest at school and got a coupon for yogurt from Menchies! So to celebrate we went right after school and got some on the way home.

BYU preschool art this month was about woodland creatures! Della made a little chipmunk friend and loved her.

We wanted to go to the zoo before the weather got cold, and so we invited our friend Hailee and Alice to come with us! I really like spending time with her and Alice is so fun and adorable. We had a great time at the zoo, even though we had to go without Henry (he was super bummed). The girls wanted to ride the carousel a bunch so we did that a few times, and then acidentally stayed late after they closed for a private event. Whoops.

We finally, FINALLY finished our front yard! I cannot even tell you how excited and relieved I am about this. It has been looking awful for about 6 months now, so it was definitely a relief to get it better. We ended up having sod put in instead of seed so which made things easier.

Story time this month was the sword in the stone! Henry was obviously at school, but he was feeling left out so I recorded the entire thing for him to watch later. I love these things and so do my kiddos! Della definitely did not want a picture with them haha.

There is a really yummy breakfast place on State Street called Tru Religion that I've been wanting to go to for a while, but they close really early (like noon) so it is hard to do that with Rusty's work schedule. One day he told me to get ready because he was coming back from the gym to take me to breakfast! It was so fun and a great surprise, and the food was out of this world!

I wanted to use up the pass a little bit more and I remembered that they let you help milk the cows on Monday nights. So after school one Monday we all went over to Farm Country! They liked riding the ponies, and Henry liked milking the cow. Della was not so sure.

Towards the end of the month the Grinch and Whos came to visit at University Mall! We went and watched them while they sang and danced a little too, and it was so great! I was really impressed. When they were singing about the Grinch he came and started sneaking around the crowd. Della was beside herself terrified haha, and Henry wasn't too thrilled either. Amelia was mostly just fascinated with the lights.

When Desi first moved here I saw these really adorable turkey hands that she had made with some of her students. I knew I wanted to have my kids make those too! So we decided to do them in November, and just knew they wouldn't actually be done in time for this Thanksgiving. The kids had a blast making them with Desi and working with the clay.

We really love to go on bike rides as a family! A pretty common route for us is to go down to UVU by the airplane.

For Thanksgiving this year, it was the Pollards' turn. We all decided to do something new and go to Fairplay and get an Airbnb instead of going to Canon City. It was really fun! We played games, played outside on the ziplines and in the hot tub, ate good food, and talked and hung out. The kids had a great time playing with each other and we hardly saw them the whole time because they were down in the basement playing.

Mustaches!

Very tired mom haha

At the very end of the month we got to go and meet Santa! It was during a Red Sign party and the kids had a fantastic time talking with him. The line was so short that they went back and chatted with him for a second time!

Henry loved this nutcracker in the lobby

Henry's Highlights:

  • He is totally obsessed with Pokemon! That's all he wants to talk about, play, and read about. He has invented his own Pokemon and made their cards. He is so cute!
  • He and Della made their own Pokemon robots.
  • Henry is excelling with school. He is making friends and doing great academically, oftentimes ahead of the class.

Adeline's Adventures:

  • Calls pajamas "pajams"
  • Says, "That's else" like "what else" and "that's all" mixed together
  • She is totally in her own world all the time. We were all talking about something in the car and then she blurted out, "You said I could do swimming lessons!"
  • I was playing with her with some animals. She was a kangaroo and I was a tiger. She said, "The kangaroo is dead." I said, "The tiger thinks she's still alive. I'll get some medicine." Then she said, "That is dead medicine. You killed her." I said, "Are you sure? It's sad she's dead." She said, "Yes, she's dead." Then she reached over and took my tiger and said in the creepiest, lowest voice, "Now it's time to eat." and she made it eat her kangaroo! Ahh!!

Amelia's Updates:

  • She follows me around and sits on my feet wherever I go! It is so cute and I love it.

  • She took her first steps on November 17! She is rocking it!
  • Loves baby dolls! Pats them, rocks them, sways with them
