First Year of Marriage? Check. :)

Ok, so it was a long time ago, but on May 19, 2012 Rusty and I celebrated our first ever anniversary!! It was very exciting. I can't even explain how glad I am that I found Rusty. Not only is he my best friend, but he is my better half. People who only know me are so gypped! Our first year was definitely a big one with school, getting new jobs, applying for internships, buying/remodeling our house, and moving to Seattle. But there is no one that I would rather have done all of those things with. Here's to another 100 years to add on to our first one! Okay, maybe not a hundred but you know what I mean. :)

For our anniversary Rusty planned out the day and surprised me. It was a nice sunny day here in Seattle, which does not happen often, so we went and saw Snoqualmie Falls on our way to hike Rattlesnake Ridge. After that we had dinner at Ivar's down on the waterfront, and we ate out on the deck. It was a nice night and the food was delicious! Just ask Rusty, he still won't stop talking about that Seafood Saute.  :)

The falls were so beautiful!!

We even saw a bride!! I sneaked a picture because I thought it was so fitting, being our anniversary and all :)
This is from our hike on Rattlesnake Ridge. There was so much moss growing on the trees that it looked like the Grinch!
So Rusty tried to imitate him.... sort of.

 On our way up!!

The view from the top was AMAZING!!!

The lake was the most beautiful turquoise color. It looked so surreal.

One  year BABY!! It sure was a great one, but I am still looking forward to what the next years will bring. We have been so blessed and are so grateful for everything that we have been given. I can't imagine my life without this man even for one day, I'm so glad that no matter what happens I get him for eternity. There is nothing that bring me so much peace as this knowledge does.

Hello, Seattle

We spent a day walking around downtown Seattle and seeing what was there. It did not disappoint that's for sure! It was beautiful, fun and definitely has its own atmosphere. From the fun fountains to the gum wall, downtown Seattle sure has lots of character!

Seattle has all kinds of different sculptures and art pieces all over the streets. They are pretty fun and interesting, stuff we don't normally see anyway!

This guy's arm actually moved! It was cool.

There was this cool fountain down by the space needle that would spit water out in sync with the music that was playing. It was so fun to watch the kids play in it!
Next we went to Pike's Place! The sign behind us says Public Market and is right about Pike's Place!

We saw them throw the fish! I was so excited to see it and we saw them throw a couple! This picture was right after the guy in the orange apron threw the fish!! Love the flying fish :)

This is the famous gum wall! Seriously, the wall comes out like an inch wider at the bottom because of all of the gum haha. People were asked to prom with gum, phone numbers, whatever you can think of.

Then we went to the space needle! It was really cool to see and we walked around. We didn't go up yet, but we will before the summer is over!
I was so confused because I  had always thought that the space needle was so much taller than the other buildings in Seattle. That is not true.... The other buildings are way taller haha. I was disappointed and didn't understand how the pictures always made it stand out so Rusty took me to this park with a GREAT view of the space needle. This is where all those pictures are taken.... My life makes sense again :)

Ferry Fun

As soon as we got here we started going on adventures! There is just so much to do here in Seattle and we have been doing our best to experience it. We live about a half a mile from a beach with a lighthouse here in Mukilteo. We have spent lots of time down there and seen some cool things! We have seen lots of seals and crabs and fish. There is a ferry there that goes over to Whidbey Island that we took! It is lots of fun to go down there and walk/sit on the beach, swing on the swings, or go out on the docks.
The lighthouse at Mukilteo. This is for you Mom!!
That is Whidbey Island behind us!
This is the ferry.... It is huge!

We went over to the island and walked on the beach over there and walked around. It's a pretty big island but it's all residential so there isn't much to do. It was still fun to take the ferry though!
