Hahahahaha
At the beginning of the year I wanted to make spending outdoor time a big priority. There is a movement called 1,000 hours and the goal is to get outside for 1,000 hours a year. I thought that was a little much, but opted for just making it a bigger priority that we would focus on in our lives. It went really well until (spoiler) I got pregnant and super sick and couldn't get out of bed haha. Then that kind of ruined it. But until then we did a great job and noticed a big difference in how the kids and I felt, and how they got along with each other. We met Jessica at Mt. Timpanogos Trail and pulled the kids in the sled and hiked around. On the way down I let the kids go in the sled and then they got faster and faster so I had to run after them and tackle the sled haha. Adeline was scared of sledding after that. Whoops.
Another day we went up to Rock Canyon to take Bailey for a hike and to go sledding. We met the Bartons up there and hiked around and found a good sledding spot! The kids got some air haha, and Della went down the trail in the sled again without me so I had to chase her down. I was literally telling Bryndee about what happened the other day when this happened. My poor kid.
I got new glasses! I asked Jessica to go with me to the store in December because if I go by myself I just pick random ones because I get embarrassed spending so much time looking at them. I got them this month and I like them! PS I also got a fluffy robe and it is the best thing that I have ever bought.
WE GOT PREGNANT! We'd been trying for a while and I was starting to get a little discouraged it was taking so long. Then I thought for sure I was pregnant so I took a test and it was negative. I was so bummed! But my period still didn't come for a few days, so I took another test and it was positive! I found out right before I left to go to a musical with my friend Aubrey. I was so excited! Then I got really sick after McCall and just laid in bed for like three weeks. Henry and Della were very sweet and drew pictures and brought me toys, and Rusty was a saint and took care of everything. These Ginger candies gave me some relief for a day and I was so happy, and then anything that sweet made me throw up haha. It was not good.
We were going to go to McCall with my parents, but my grandpa got sick and so they stayed to help him out. The kids, Rusty, and I ended up going ourselves. We were so excited! It was the week before the Winter Carnival, there's the Pancake House, and all of the snow you can imagine to play in. But on the drive there I started getting really sick... like really sick. And turns out, that I started getting morning sickness. Right then haha. What terrible timing! Also, Della was sick but we thought we'd still go because she'd either be sick at home or sick there relaxing. She continued to get worse though, and we ended up going to the ER one night and found out she had pneumonia. Needless to say, it was not a very relaxing or happy trip haha. But we did manage to do a few fun things for the week we were there.
The view from our condo was so fun! There were giant icicles and tons of deer that we could see. The kids loved watching them.
We went to the Pancake House! I wasn't even that hungry or feeling good, but we had to go! Even just going made me so happy because I have such great memories of that place. I love it there! The kids fed off of that excitement and loved being there.
We also took the kids sledding behind the car in a parking lot we found, and then did a little hike/walk from the same spot. Henry was laughing and giggling like crazy the entire time he was sledding behind the car, and asking to go faster and faster. Della was still a little scared of sledding haha.
