November: Murders

Northern Lights! I didn't know if I would ever be able to see these in real life. It wasn't a full show but for being here in Utah it is definitely more than I thought I'd get. We took these pictures from our upper porch.

More jiu jitsu! They are going strong!

The Kiln in Bozeman is getting finished up! It is coming along beautifully!

I went with some other moms to the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. It had been a long time since we've been to a museum and I don't know if I've ever been to this museum at all before. The kids all had a good time, and the tour guide was really great and had all kinds of activities for them.

Ancient Egyptian artifacts! We are learning about Ancient Egypt!

Rusty went to Las Vegas with Chase for the SEMA show! They had a fun time and had some good bonding. Afterwards, Chase came home with Rusty for the weekend before going back to Colorado.

As a family we went to Top Golf! It was the first time we've gone as a whole family and it was a really fun thing.

Rusty and I went dirt biking by the house! It was really fun but there was one little downhill part that scared me to death and my heart rate skyrocketed. It was so funny to see it on my watch!

THE HILL OF DEATH

The Lutes invited us to a Murder Mystery Party! It was really fun and we got dressed up and had character parts and everything. I even won a gift basket for getting the guess right!

Rusty and I went mountain biking! It was the WOW and it was our last time for the year.

Wizard of Oz was our book club book for this month! We hosted here at home and it was a really fun time! We had green food, poppyseed cake (poppies in the field), popcorn because the scarecrow was in a corn field, and apples for the apple trees where the tin man was found.

Jodi got tickets to see the Nutcracker tea party in Midway- which I've never been able to go to. It was really cute!

Lilah had her birthday party!

Rusty decided to sell the Sierra car so everyone had one last shot to drive it around. Everyone is sad about it being gone but Rusty was sure it was the right choice.

I got some really fun little sewing kits and we had the best time sitting by the fire, reading and making these little keychains.

I got the school room all ready for Christmas! I love decorating for Christmas and it makes the school room so happy.

The Cowleys got us some tickets to a musical thing at the Conference Center. It was only for children 8+ so I dropped Amelia off for a special date with Gigi! The show was a Christmas nativity theme and it was nice!

We went to the movies to see Wicked with the Carlsons. The second movie was really good and we all enjoyed it!

We did make a lot of progress at the cabin last month, but we still had some more work to do before everyone comes. Obviously we still had time for some fun things!!

Olivia got home from her mission! Emilie had a dinner for her and we all got to hang out. After dinner we played a really funny game where you did charades with a blow up doll. Olivia did so great on her mission and we are so happy to have her home!

While the Pollards were at the cabin we all went to play in the snow! It wasn't a lot of snow and my kids didn't have any snow clothes, but we still had a lot of fun!

We hosted Thanksgiving at the cabin this year! The Pollards came and stayed here with us for a few days and we got to play games and hang out together.  Dinner was delicious as usual and we had a great time together!

One of my favorite things the whole year is cutting the Christmas tree down tree! We ventured out with everyone this year and hiked through the snow to find the perfect tree. It took us a little longer this year than normal to find this beauty, but it really was so perfect. And Kirk found it which made me so happy.

The Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony might be my number one favorite reason for living in Midway. Everyone freaks out about Swiss Days, but honestly I don't like it. There are little parts I like okay, but most of it is just too many sweaty people all put together in one small space. BUT the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony is the absolute best thing. This year we brought the Pollards with us and then met up with the Cowleys. After it was over we went to the Whitakers house to decorate it for them as a surprise! They didn't have any Christmas decorations.

Henry's Highlights:

  • Playing Donkey Kong and he didn't make the jump. He yells, "Ah!! I'm too hefty!"
  • "Do fish eggs make you fart a lot? Because beans make you fart a lot. Do fish eggs?"

Adeline's Adventures:
  • Levi threw a snowball at Della while we were Christmas tree hunting. It hit her right in the face and gave her the biggest bloody nose. I was pretty annoyed because even though it was an accident that's ridiculous, but Della was a great sport about it! She's a trooper!
  • She's been doing pretty good with her tummy issues lately, but this month we had a few setbacks. Hopefully things get back to a good rhythm for her! Poor thing had to go to the bathroom and throw up while we were watching the Christmas play at the Conference Center.

Amelia's Updates:
  • "Secondary day" means Saturday
  • Talking about when she went rock climbing with Jessica and stood on some letter hand holds.
    • "Mom you know the ABCs? I stood on one of those. It was hardcore."
    • She also was talking about the glasses you where so you don't have to bend your neck to look up and Della started freaking out about how cool those were. Amelia says, "You need to try them! They're sick!"
    • So I start laughing because she's saying sick and hardcore, and then she says, "Mom! What?! They're human words. Grown up words."
  • Got her first library card!

Extra Pictures:

Chandler came over for dinner with his girls!

My new turkey!
