November

This month started off strong by me getting to sneak away to Pinner’s Conference! Rusty was so supportive and helpful and stayed home with the kids for two days so that I could go to the classes with Bryndee (I brought Amelia with me). It was a blast, even though Bryndee was gone the entire first day because she was late haha. I went to sewing classes, fashion classes, cooking classes, and make up classes. I even took a class about reducing toxins, which I have been super into lately. I joined this group called Natural Super Kids and have been learning so much about gut health, toxins, eating right, and using natural medicines. I have really been enjoying it!

Angie, Jessica and I all got together one weekend and met at Mom’s house for a “Hallmark Day” where we went Christmas shopping, watched Christmas movies and just hung out and talked. It was so great to see her and it was her first time meeting Lia!

Nature School is still going strong! We have continued to enjoy spending time outside with our friends, even though we have had a little bit of a roller coaster with the other people there. There are two girls there (sisters) that don’t let Henry and Della play with them. This has given us an opportunity to talk about how we can react when people are not kind, and how we don’t want to make anyone feel that way. It is so, so hard to watch my kids be sad and to let them handle it themselves. I just want to punch those girls right in their faces haha. Being a parent is so hard because you just want your kids to be safe and happy. We keep going though and we keep playing outside with other friends too!

One day we were just having a lazy day and staying home when Rusty called and said that there was a giant dinosaur skull out in the parking lot at his work. We headed over and this giant triceratops head was there! We went in and talked to the owner and he was so kind to us. He let us touch the fossils (real dinosaur bone!!) and then look at the other things they were working on. It was so cool and he said to stop by often because they are always working on new projects. After that we went and saw Rusty at work, which was Amelia’s first time and only the second time for the rest of us.

School started up slowly again this month. We aren’t doing any extras like Science, Social Studies, Art or Spanish but we started back with the Math and Literacy. It has been nice to be back doing it again, and because I'm not doing the other subjects it has been pretty nice and easy. I am nervous for when the other stuff starts up again haha. One day for Math we played store and the kids had a great time. I am so proud of Henry and how hard he is working for school. He is doing very well!

We had the opportunity to buy a family a Thanksgiving Dinner that was in need. I love being able to do things like that and to show my kids how to serve and give to others as well. It was a special experience, and Henry said on the drive home: “I can feel the Spirit now! I can feel it pouring down on me!”

We wanted to go on a bike ride before the weather got too cold, but we were not set up to be able to go with all five of us! How crazy to be a family of five. We picked up a little trailing bike for Della to ride and strapped Amelia into the bike trailer in her car seat. We have done this with each of our little babies haha, and we just keep adding kids to our biking caravan! There is a cool trail over in Spanish Fork that we went and tried out and we had a great time! We saw lots of sheep and a few dirt bikes going up the trails too. Henry's tire got flat so Rusty had to fix it and then the kids got to play in the trees for a little bit.

For Thanksgiving we went to my parents’ house and had a low key day. My friend Sophia is going through a divorce and she didn’t have anywhere to go for Thanksgiving so we invited her and her step kids to come with us. We had the most delicious food and then went out and let everyone ride the horses. The next day we went out for a little walk along the canals and looked at the ice and threw rocks. It felt so good to be able to move around and not be pregnant haha! I still love that I am not pregnant anymore, even though I am so grateful that I can carry babies. We also went for a fun ride in the side by side up String Town and saw deer and just enjoyed being out in the open spaces. We are so lucky to have all of that land up there that we can explore, and I fully intend to take more advantage of it next year!

While we were still at my parents’ house they dug out some totes that were full of dress up things. Henry and Della were in absolute heaven as they got to try all of them on! The day after Thanksgiving I decided that I was going to do 30 before 30, or complete 30 goals before I turned 30. It was a little late because I turn 30 in March so I only had a few months haha, but I sat down and wrote out some of my goals. I even got started on two of them, which was to tack up a horse and to ride one without being scared. Riding Pepper was definitely scary and I may have cried haha, but I am making progress and hopefully next time will not involve any tears.

Emilie's first time meeting Amelia

At the end of November some Christmas stuff started happening! Charlie our elf came to visit after Thanksgiving and we found him every morning doing something new and silly. We also put up the lights on our house and I finally understand why my dad would get angry with us during that process haha. It is so frustrating to just say, “Don’t step on the lights” and to have the kids jump over them again and again. AHHHH. Kids.

Henry’s Highlights

  • He is loving school and learning things. He said, "This just blasted my mind!"
  • I hurt my shoulder and he came up and said, "Is there anything I can do?"
  • He always says "Am I true?" for "Am I right?"
  • He yawned and then said, "Oh but that wasn't a sleepy yawn, it was a ready to play yawn!
  • Henry loves taking care of Amelia. She was crying and he came over and she stopped crying. He said, "I guess she just wanted big brother."

Adeline’s Adventures

  • We went to the park one day and it was really cold. She said her face was cold and that she wanted a jacket for her face haha.
  • Della calls owls "howls" and I love it
  • She says No-nee for No
  • She sings all of the time. All. Of. The. Time.
  • For some reason she says there is always a crab and scorpion in her ear haha.
  • She loves pickles so much. "I NEED PICKLES."

Amelia’s Updates:

  • First time at church
  • First toy was the little giraffe and zebra puppet that Henry got her with my parents. She really loved them!
  • She loves when I sing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat"
  • She has a scrunchy nose when she smiles
  • Lia is very ticklish. Especially on her feet, this small spot on the small of her back, and under her chin
  • I think her favorite thing in the world is to be naked (other than the shower but then she is still naked haha)
