August: Pretend Back to School

Ah Morgan. It's always fun to go there. Rusty had to go back to Colorado to do some work and I really don't like being home all alone so we went to my parent's house and played there for a few days. It was great to slow down and relax and the kids loved everything they got to do there! They rode horses, made s'mores, rode their new scooters, went to the splash pad, ate Jay's, went swimming at Uncle John's pool and stayed for the family reunion. Rusty came back to Utah Friday night and then came to Morgan Saturday morning for the reunion. It was great to have him back!

Della put her new lip gloss on all of us!

Doing hurdles at the reunion!

We went back up to Morgan to celebrate Rusty's birthday. All he wanted for his birthday was to go dirt biking with my Dad. That made me feel really great haha. He went on Friday and then Kyle and Bryndee came up on Saturday. We took them up to String Town on the four wheeler and side by side and let them ride horses and play in the little blow up pool. Then we had a yummy chocolate cake that Rusty requested.

They were holding a grasshopper and it jumped on Della's head haha

Rusty's birthday dinner! Steak and shrimp

Because this is my third baby, I don't really need much and the idea of having a whole shower for myself seems extreme. But I am still so excited about welcoming this little lady to our family and it feels wrong to not celebrate her the same way I did the other two! So this time we did a fun get together where we went and did pedicures and then went and got yummy Thai food. It was so fun! Desi, Jessica, Bryndee, Mom and Sophia all came. It was so fun!

Homeschool is going well! I have really enjoyed it, and I think Henry does too. He will tell me that he loves having me as a teacher and I’m the best teacher ever. I will never get tired of his little voice saying, “Thanks” when I help him solve a problem or read a word. This month we focused on the Solar System. We read so many books, did fun activities, and went to the planetarium. Henry surprised my mom with everything he knows, including the Kuiper Belt, and had fun thinking about which planet he would like to live on if he could.

We even tried a freeze dried ice cream sandwich! I got it from the planetarium for them. They liked it but prefer normal ice cream haha

This year was so strange because when everyone else was starting their school year for 2020, we were starting our break. We are taking a few months off because we will be welcoming our baby sister to our family and I need some time before I jump back into school. But, I didn’t want to do the back to school stuff in June when I started teaching Henry so we ended up doing it now even though we were taking a break haha.

This month Rusty's friend Steve was visiting from San Diego and they decided to go to a car show. I wasn’t feeling very well and just wanted a break to relax so I stayed home, but Rusty and the kids had a great time!

We are still going to Nature School every Monday, and we all love it! It re-centers us and gets us ready for the week. This year I have really prioritized spending time outside and it has been a wonderful. I love having this time outside.

Henry's Highlights
  • Once I sneezed and Rusty asked if I peed my pants, and I said yes. I was pretty bummed haha. Henry said, "It's okay. It happens sometimes."
  • I ask him to pick things up off the ground for me now. He said, "You'd be a much better clearner if you could pick things up from the floor."
  • He tells me and Della "You look beautiful" all the time. So sweet.

Adeline's Adventures
  • She sings in the shower. All of the time.
  • I can't really bribe her with dessert or sweets. But, you can bribe her with a pickle.
  • We wake up every morning to her saying, "I wanna nuddle (snuggle) you"
  • She says "shue" for sure
  • Della tells people all the time that she is five or six years old. Little stinker.
  • One night she told me that something was "titelling" her ear. Then she said that it must either be a lobster or a caterpillar. Apparently, those are the only two options haha.

Extra Pictures

Henry brought me all of these snacks to help me feel better!

I was so tired of being pregnant haha

I told Della to "watch your 'tude." She stared at her toes and asked me why ahaha.

They love having their own personal pools haha
