Girls Night
Yard Work
We also did the fun side of Easter like coloring eggs, hidden Easter baskets, and doing an egg hunt for the kids. They loved the egg hunt so much that we took their gathered eggs and hid them again so they could do it twice haha! It was so fun to watch them go through their eggs because they are so different. Henry wanted to look through everything he had and save his favorites for last, and Adeline would open one and eat whatever was inside before looking at the next one. We had a big ham dinner with funeral potatoes even though it was just us that was going to be eating it.
One of our first outings was to hike Battle Creek Falls with Jessica and Aaron. Even though we haven't left the house in so long, it is nice to live somewhere that we can go be in the mountains in less than thirty minutes. This was a really fun hike and my kids had a great time! So did we! They found some caves to explore on the way back down, and spent a lot of time just playing in the creek and exploring around at the falls.
Bike rides
This month we found out the gender of the baby! It was supposed to be a surprise from us, but at the ultrasound I looked up at the screen after she said it was fine and when it was printing it ran back through all of the pictures. One of them said, I'M A GIRL!! Haha! So, we are so excited to have another little girl join our family! I knew beforehand that one of my kids was going to be upset about the gender because Henry wanted a boy and Adeline wanted a girl, so I thought we should have cake there to make it better haha. We've never done a gender reveal thing before and this might be our last baby so I thought it would be fun and that the kids would really enjoy it. From the pictures you can see that Henry was disappointed haha, but I said, "Hey I'm sorry buddy. But you will be a great big brother! Do you want some cake?!" and it seemed to lighten it up haha. Yay for cake.
We were getting really stir crazy and wanting to get out of the house, so we made a day trip to Diamond Fork and did some hiking and playing in the river! We ate a little picnic first and then just let the kids explore wherever they wanted. Their favorite part was playing in the river. Henry helped the beaver make a dam, and then some other people came and found a snake. They liked seeing that too!
Sometime this month we made a trip out to Morgan where we did a little Easter egg hunt. Jessica and Aaron came too! Dad, Rusty and I hiked the M. That is a beautiful hike! It is really steep, but it is gorgeous. I can see that when it is hotter it would be pretty awful though haha. There's no shade at all.
We took the 4 wheeler up on the mountains, and the kids each caught a fish! Henry's fish didn't get off the hook in time, so they ate it. Both kids thought that was the absolute coolest thing in the whole world! We also went up to String Town, which was the first time for my kiddos. I think it's been about ten years since I was up there, so it was pretty much like my first time too. It was a blast! We went frog hunting but it was too muddy and they got away, but we want to go back and try to catch them again!
Uncle Brent showed the kids the calves, and they got to name Irene's baby. Della really wanted to name the baby Jojo, so I figured this was a perfect chance to let her name something Jojo haha. They wrote on the tag and watched him get his ears pierced.
Henry's Highlights
- Henry can ride his big two wheeler bike! He rides like a champ, and is so proud of himself. "How did I do riding my bike?! Are you so proud of me?"
- Loves swinging on the tall side of our swing set
- Is getting a little picky with what he likes to eat.
- He loves to help Mom and Dad with our outside projects.
- He is so sweet! He is very helpful and shares things very easily (most of the time).
- Henry is looking like a big kid now. He is excited to be growing up!
- One day I was doing homeschool preschool with him and he had to do an assessment. I told him he could have a sticker because he did so well, and he came back and told me that he wanted to give me his sticker because I am such a good teacher. He said multiple times, "I love that you are my teacher Mom! You are the best teacher!" He is seriously so sweet it makes my heart hurt.
- "Do you suppose _____________________?"
Adeline's Adventures
- Potty training is going well! She seems to be getting it and is having fewer accidents. She's had a few days that she has had no accidents interspersed with days with accidents. 4/11 and 4/12 she had two days in a row with no accidents!
- LOVES swinging! Asks to swing every day.
- Loves to eat pickles. Like, to get her to eat her vegetables I can offer her a pickle and she'll do it every time. If I offer a cookie it's maybe like 70% of the time.
- Calls the baby Jojo. I told her that's not its name and she said, "It's just pretend Mom."
- She is looking older too.
- She can ride the strider bike really great all by herself! She is getting so fast and comfortable lately.
- "Yes sir!" when I ask her to do something.
- "I grow bigger and bigger then you be a baby in my tummy and I marry Daddy. Then you come out and I hold you and rock you. Awww"
- She can count to ten!
Conference attempt to make things go smoother. They got an activity/treat based on when the 12 and the First Presidency spoke. I don't know if it worked or not haha.
Della loves talking to her baby
She always gets stuck up here like this haha
Rusty hid this spider around the house tied to fishing line. He tied it up so that it would come flying out at me when I opened up cabinets.
I wanted to take pictures of Della's new outfit from Jessica, and she wanted to do a whole modeling shoot haha.
We made up a game where we tried to see how many cars we could fit on our faces. When you're tired and pregnant and you can't leave the house, you get creative.
