Another day we took them to the Dinosaur Museum. The boys loved running through the star tunnel (always Henry's favorite part) and digging for dinosaur bones.
We also went to a new park (Scera Park) and the kids had a blast! It was a hot day so we spent some time in the shade watching the kids play. They went down this giant two story slide and chased each other around playing hide and go seek. On the way back to the car they all held hands and my heart might have burst!
Best friends!
This is something else that happened haha. When the two big boys got together they couldn't help going out and buying Rusty a shotgun. I don't know why we need it (despite his many attempts to explain it) but it sure did make him happy. :)
Then we went up to finish out the weekend at my parents' house. We spent the weekend riding the four wheeler around, riding the horses, shooting guns (including Rusty's new shotgun), and went swimming over at Uncle John's house. The kids loved swimming, and Henry was an absolute adrenaline junky going off of the diving board. He is not like this with anything but the pool, but man he is fearless!
This girl loves whipped cream
Hahaha
On Sunday the Hudsons went home, and we stayed around for a little bit and went fishing out in the creek in front of the cabin. It was really relaxing and quiet and peaceful. I love being up there where it's quiet and you have wide open space. I feel like I can really breathe up there.
One of the fun things about living here is all of the letters up on the hills. Henry loves to see them and say what each letter is, which is awesome for teaching letters by the way haha. Anyways, one day Bryndee and I took the kids out to hike the G in Pleasant Grove. It was longer than we had anticipated, and also steeper but we made it! And Henry did not get carried at all- he walked the whole way! I was so proud of him, he did a great job. The views were pretty from the top and Henry was so excited to touch the G. Now every time that we see it when we are driving he gets excited and says that he touched it.
One day we went up Provo Canyon to soak up the beautiful sun! We had a picnic and then walked along the trail. Henry rode his bike and Della rode in the stroller. Henry LOVES riding through those little puddles, and ended up getting covered up in mud. Della wanted to push the stroller for a little while, so we took about a million years walking back haha. We got to the waterfall and they loved looking at it and putting their feet in the water.
Seriously. Only one kid smiles at a time
We had never been camping in the Unitas before, but it has been on our list. We decided to try to fit it in before it got too cold, but we still took my parents' trailer to stay warm. And let me tell you- I loved that heater!! It would start to get cold and we would go in at night and turn on the heater and get all snuggled up in bed. It was SO much better than camping in the tent in Yellowstone with all of our snow clothes on haha. :)
On Friday Rusty got off work early and we headed out. We had to go to Morgan to get the trailer, and so by the time we got there it was dark. I had looked up the campsites and even called the rangers to see if we could build a fire, and they said it was ok. Well, when we got there the campground gate was closed. I had no idea what to do, so we just kept driving and hoped that we would find something. Luckily, the main campground was open and we found a spot. The next morning we found a ranger and he said we were good to stay there! And the best part is that this spot was awesome. It was kind of secluded and close to the lake. We got lucky!
Our first morning we went out on a little walk around the campground. The kids wanted to climb on the giant rocks that they found. Then we had breakfast and took the canoe out on Mirror Lake. It was beautiful and calm, and there were lots of people out fishing. We took our fishing poles out, but we also took Bailey in the boat with us... definitely not my idea. Rusty. Anyways, she was not a fan so we had to go back to shore and take her to the campsite haha. Then we went back out and went fishing and paddled around.
Afterwards we went back to the trailer and took a nap. Everybody was tired and cranky, and it was so nice to be able to just relax and sleep a little bit. When we woke up we took a walk around Mirror Lake. Adeline loved playing with the little flowers coming up through the boardwalk, and Henry loved chasing Bailey on the trail. It was really pretty and quiet; perfect for a little camping activity.
The next day we did something crazy! I had heard that Bald Mountain was a good, family friendly hike. There must have been a miscommunication somewhere along the line, and they were talking about a different Bald Mountain. Because this one was not family friendly. At all. The entire hike I kept thinking that I would find whoever told me that and poke them in eye.
The colors are getting so beautiful! We went on a hike and did Buffalo Peak. We met Heather, Scarlett and Steven and they hiked with us and then had a little picnic. It wound through a lot of pretty colors, and then ended in a pretty steep hill. It was really cool for Henry to be able to climb a summit all by himself. The views from the top were really pretty! We could see Utah Lake, the temple, and tons of colors on the mountains.
Henry loved playing in the trees and calling them his castle.
We also went on a hike in Little Cottonwood Canyon with Jessica. We were trying to go to Cecret Lake, but when we got to the trail head there was a sign saying that it was closed for repairs. While that was a bummer, we ended up just going back down a little ways and finding a random trail in the aspens. It was beautiful and perfect for this time of year! We were some of the only people there, and we even saw some deer.
A little finger painting! This was Adeline's first time finger painting, and she loved it. She didn't even eat that much. ;) Then they got to paint some toy cars and do a car wash! That was the highlight of the whole thing, go figure.
We went to the library for story time. I love that Della is getting big enough that she can go off and do things with Henry now. Here she went with him to the front to see the bubbles, and I had a proud mommy moment. A little boy shoved Della to move her out of the way and Henry grabbed Della's hand and pulled her in front of him and said, "Don't hit my sister!" I love that she will always have him to protect her. He will be so good at it.
Oh, then there was this fun day. It was really hot and Henry wanted to swim in the little pool. But he wanted me to swim too, and I thought sure! I'll be a fun mom and go swimming. So I put my phone down and got in the pool with my clothes on. Well, about three minutes in I look over and see Adeline holding my phone over the pool and then plop! Right in the water. It was in there for maybe a second, but it was enough. Good thing she's cute.
Naked Henry :)
We had the opportunity to attend my cousin Bryan's wedding this month! It had been a while since we had been to a sealing, and it is always wonderful to be able to hear the promises again. The temple is such a sacred place, and I love every minute I get to spend there. We were lucky to have some family watch our kids so we could be there together. After we went to the luncheon and then to the reception.
A girl on a mission
Getting pictures of two kids looking at the camera is like winning the lottery.
We got to do another one of our country dates! This month was Spain and it was so fun! I love these dates because they make us do different things that we would normally never do. For this date we had a tomato fight in the backyard, like the Tomatina they do in Spain. We had to answer trivia questions about the country, and if we got them wrong we got to throw a tomato at the other person haha. Then we had tapas (gambas al ajillo, prosciutto and manchego cheese) with our own version of sangria. Then we had a yummy Spanish tortilla for dinner before we made churros with chocolate sauce. SO SO DELICIOUS! Then we played a game called Chinchon with these Spanish playing cards. To end, we watched a movie called Barcelona. One of the cool things about these dates its that we watch really cool movies we would never see. This time, it did not pay off. We didn't even finish it haha, it was that terrible! I should have just got The Mask of Zorro.
How lucky are we?! We got two dates in one month. We got a babysitter and went out to dinner at Ahi Muse and got some yummy sushi. Then after we went and saw the Wizard of Oz at the Scera Theater. This play was so wonderful! I have actually never seen the movie, but man this play was so good that we ended up getting the movie from the library. The movie is great, but seeing it live was really special. And these actors were so talented. Rusty and I had my favorite strawberry shortcake cupcakes at intermission. I love this man and we had a great time having some time all by ourselves!
Our memberships to Thanksgiving Point end next month, so we are trying to get the most use out of it that we can! We went over to the Children's Museum and the kids had a blast hanging out.
Another day we went to the duck pond at BYU. We brought bread to feed the ducks, but Adeline wouldn't give any of the bread to the ducks. She just kept eating it haha. She was also really scared of the ducks and screamed any time they came near her. Henry, however, loved feeding the ducks and squealed with delight the entire time. He also loved seeing the turtles in the pond.
Stealing the duck's bread
After that we went to the Farm so that Henry could milk a cow! They do it every night at 5:00, so we went out there as part of our preschool Farm Unit. At first Henry was not so sure about it, but eventually he caught on and made it work!
Della was a little grumpy haha.

Henry's Highlights
- Says, "my sweet mommy" and "my mommy" because I call him my Henry
- Loves flags. He will always point them out when we are driving and yell, "AMERICAN FLAG!"
- Started preschool! We are doing a homeschooling preschool and Henry is loving it! He is so smart.
- Favorite color is brown. All of the color crayons for preschool are brand new, and the brown one is way shorter because that's the only thing he wants to color with. Also randomly he will come in and say, "Hey! Your hair is brown, brown is my favorite!" Or if he sees a brown car, "A brown car! Brown is my favorite!"
- "Your class was a long day for you. Let's watch a show." haha
- Whenever I ask him to ask Rusty something, he starts with "Rusty"
- "ABSOLUTETY!"
- I lost my phone this month and was pretty worried. We looked everywhere at the library and still couldn't see it. I suggested we pray, and immediately after he said, "I know you will find your phone because Heavenly Father wants you to be happy! He will probably mail it to you, and the box will have candy and toys for me too!" And you know what? We did find my phone. I love this little, sweet boy.
- Sings This is My Fight song all of the time, and replaces the words
- Loves 100. Everything is 100. "I love you 100!" "I love you 100 100 100 100 100 100". Sets timer on Alexa for 100 minutes.
Adeline's Adventures
- Duck lips for days
- Loves the book I love you night and day
- She folds her arms and my heart melts
- Finally started saying, "food" in sign language
- Her hair is out of control
- She LOVES bananas now. She will walk us into the kitchen and then point at them until we get her one.
- Loves her binkies. Carries them around with her everywhere.
- Loves to be outside. Will stand at the sliding door or point at it until we go outside. She also brings me her shoes or her socks all day long even if we aren't going anywhere. She loves to put shoes and socks on!
- Adeline loves Henry! She has started bringing him snacks to open if I say no haha.
Extra Pictures
Adeline in Nursery
Henry always gets Della a ton of toys in her crib
Whoops
Henry is so sweet and pushes Della on the swing
"Mom, put this sock on me!"
Two socks
Walks with a magnifying glass
We figured out that if we put Bailey's leash on Henry's bike she can pull him around super fast! This only ends in crashes about 75% of the time.
A happy mom.
Rusty brought all three of us flowers after work one day!
I swear Henry is the weirdest sleeper. There was that phase where he slept in the box, now he loves to sleep under this star thing from my parents. But on this particular day he took a nap INSIDE the laundry basket.
Loving the bike!
Sometimes they play so nicely together! Here Henry is teaching Della what the animals say, and she actually started saying Moo!
Food stamping for preschool!
Della played with Henry's sensory bin for preschool. She is so sneaky and can take the lids off of all kinds of things!
Della is my dishes helper! All the time. If it's open she is there stealing stuff and running away with it (clean or dirty). And she always climbs on it and sits on it.
Morning hair
Rusty has been doing some awesome real estate investment meetings! They are going really well and starting to take off. He gets a great turn out at them! I'm so proud of him.
Fun at preschool with story time and singing songs! Adeline loves it just as much as Henry!
Henry helping Della put her socks on
My big girl helper!
I love how she looks at her food haha
For Preschool Music, Henry has been learning how to play Mary Had a Little Lamb on the piano. We are so inconsistent with it, but man in just about three times of practicing he has most of the song down if he follows me!
I'd be pretty happy if I saw that reflection in the mirror too!
Look at him hold on to her to keep her safe!
This girl is ready to go!
One day, I came home from the gym to this. I have the best husband ever.
Rusty finally got to go riding! He came back with blisters all over his hands, but he says it was worth it.
