So after lunch Rusty and I drove to Boise to stay at my parents' house. We didn't plan that out very well because they were up in Utah staying at a cabin in Park City, but I was just glad that we got to see them before we left. It had been a while! The drive to Boise was pretty uneventful, but when we got there we had a real shocker. I had packed a couple outfits and pajamas and things in an overnight bag for our trip to Seattle, but Rusty decided that he wanted a different pair of jeans or something so we brought his suitcase in the house so he could switch them out. To our absolute horror, we realized that I had grabbed the wrong suitcase! Let me back up. On our last day, we ran into some major plumbing problems in the basement. So while Rusty was fixing that, I packed all of his stuff for the summer. He has two suitcases that look almost identical: in one I put all of the things he needed for the summer, and in the other I put the junk we wouldn't need until we got home. In my stress of the day, I grabbed the wrong one. Rusty was really nice about it and told me that he didn't mind, and that one day we would even look back on it and laugh. I think that we are at that point now haha, but earlier there was nothing funny to me about it. At all. This is the blasted suitcase.
Anyways, we carried on! We picked some things out of that suitcase that would still work and then decided we would just ask Jessica to mail us some of the other things. Our drive to Seattle was beautiful and green, and exciting because I never drive in that direction! It seems like I only go to Utah from Boise so it was a nice change. When we were driving I was freezing cold and didn't bring a blanket, and Rusty was burning up. We improvised the best that we could and this is what happened...
Yep. It was Rusty's BRILLIANT idea to give me towels and pillow cases to keep me warm. And to... roll up his pant legs and make that face to help him cool off.
This is just one of the beautiful views we saw on our drive. After a while, I stopped trying to take pictures because they weren't doing it justice.
This is view of the Puget Sound from our house. It is absolutely breathtaking. That island right there is Whidbey Island and the mountains in the back are on the peninsula on the other side of the Sound.
